Welcome Spring!

We hope you are enjoying the warmer weather and spring blossoms! It will not be long before summer arrives, so if you are planning a field trip before the last day of school, now is the time to make a booking as slots are filling up fast.
Explore the museum’s six collections at your own pace and with your own focus. Our collections include fungi, moss, plants, marine invertebrates, mammals, birds, reptiles, fishes, insects, and more! Teachers and other group leaders are welcome to design and lead their own lessons or to take advantage of the museum’s ongoing and featured activities. Learn about the current exhibitions on display for your visit, and find answers to some common accessibility questions.

This type of visit is appropriate for all grades and most group sizes and offers maximum flexibility as self led bookings can be made at any time on any day the museum is open. Click here to learn more!

Free Lesson Plans, Resources, and More!

Looking for resources to help frame a self-led visit? Find biodiversity-themed activities built by educators, museum staff, students, and researchers; all for free! Some are designed to be used at the museum, but many can be used in your classroom anywhere around the globe. Explore and download these free resources!
Beaty Boxes, our award-winning outreach kits, are available for rental.  All Beaty Boxes contain touchable specimens and other scientific objects to stimulate inquiry and discussion within the classroom, enhancing the student learning experience.  Click here to learn more!

A significant expansion to the Beaty Biodiversity Research Center, located next to the museum, is underway and will continue into spring 2025. As with any major construction project, we anticipate delays and unforeseen circumstances – we may need to cancel or change our bookings and rentals at short notice. We thank you for your patience as we undergo this exciting transformation! Read more here!
The Beaty Biodiversity Museum will remain open during the expansion period, and operations will continue as normal.
