On October 1, 2024, at 1:16 a.m., the Department of Campus Safety received a report of 2 separate robberies by the same perpetrator. The incidents were witnessed and reported by the same 2 NYU students. The first incident occurred on September 30, 2024 at approximately 10:37 p.m. in front of Space Market (1 University Pl # 1, New York, NY 10003) and the second incident occurred shortly thereafter at approximately 11:00 p.m. in front of Bobst Library in Manhattan.
The first victim, an NYU student, was outside of Space Market when an unidentified individual put their arm around the student and demanded they go to the ATM and get $20. The student withdrew $20 from the Space Market ATM and the individual took the $20 from the student's hand. The student then ran and fled the scene.
The second victim, an NYU student, was outside of Bobst Library buying food from a food truck when the same individual asked for $10 or $20. The student initially gave the individual $5. The individual then grabbed the students arm and rummaged through their wallet. The student gave the individual another $5 and the individual left the scene heading towards Washington Square Park.
The identified student was offered services. The perpetrator's description has been shared with Campus Safety Officers. The Department of Campus Safety has notified the NYPD of the incidents.
Description of Suspect: Dark complexion and male presenting, wearing a navy blue sweater with the words "anti-social social club" on the front of the sweater, white undershirt, black pants, about six feet tall with a white wristband on their left wrist.
