Reflective Writing - Get to Know Your Students, Not AI |
There is no simple solution to the changes in education brought on by ChatGPT. This semester you may need to give yourself (and your students) grace to adjust. You may have missed our workshop "What to do about ChatGPT?" (video of part of the presentation) but we were very intentional in the subtitle "Utilize the good pedagogy that you already know.” Reflection is one such pedagogy that gives you a chance to get to know your students. It isn't ChatGPT-proof; almost nothing is. But creating meaningful opportunities for your students to reflect is good for students' learning and also gives you the opportunity to be transparent, building trust with your students.

Learn How to Help Students Navigate Campus Resources |
Faculty Members, you're invited for a special Student Services Fair designed with you in mind.
Wednesday, September 13, 10-11am, UC Kochoff Hall C
In-Person: refreshments and prizes provided
Faculty are often the initial point of contact for student support, yet some might not be aware of the various resources available to students at UM-D beyond the classroom. Considering faculty burnout concerns, tap into these resources to provide better support for students without overextending yourself.
Engage with student service representatives at the fair to learn about counseling, learning centers, and more. Fair attendees will have the chance to enter a raffle for several self-care prizes, such as a neck/shoulder massager and a basket of teas.
Registration not required, but it gets you 2 bonus raffle tickets
