I first felt the call to the priesthood during my teenage years. Like many teenagers, I felt capable of achieving anything I set my mind to, and the priesthood was no exception. However, as I began to mature, I truly realized how difficult life can be. At times, I felt incapable of achieving the vocation that God placed in my heart to become a priest. Thanks to my spiritual director, I understood that Jesus was inviting me to drink from his own cup, and although it was not easy, He never abandoned me. He only wanted to remind me that in difficult moments, I should trust in God's plan, just as Joseph did.

Joseph, in his own journey, faced a similar challenge of trusting in God's plan, despite it seeming senseless to human understanding. He acted with obedience and faith, accepting the role God had for him. Just as Joseph trusted in the divine plan for Mary and Jesus, I learned that my own path to the priesthood required a similar act of faith. There are moments when the challenges seemed impossible, and the future uncertain. But like Joseph, I must trust that God's plan, though sometimes mysterious, is always for my good. This realization brought me a sense of peace and strengthened my resolve, knowing that God is guiding me—just as he guided Joseph—through every step of the way.
It doesn't matter what stage of life you're in, don't be afraid to accept life's challenges, but always ask for God's companionship. Don't be afraid to accept his cup, even when your dreams seem impossible to achieve. He will always be there to help you achieve them, because He himself placed that dream in your heart, because He made you with a purpose.

Keep your family, O Lord, schooled always in good works, and so comfort them with your protection here as to lead them graciously to gifts on high. Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, God, for ever and ever. (Roman Missal)
