Announcing changes to our Annual Event

Amidst the sea of emotions in the Twin Cities, Upstream Arts has decided to refocus. Next week, we had planned for our Annual Fundraiser, The Art of We: Re•Focus, to be a moment of joyful celebration. And yet, we find ourselves in an entirely different moment.

We are shifting our live-streaming event, scheduled for Thursday, April 29 from 6-7pm CST, to a pre-recorded one. We will make the event video available to watch during the run of our Re•Focus photo exhibit: April 29 - June 30 at upstreamarts.org/refocus (launching next Thursday). When you have the time, and the peace of mind to interact with a celebration of the human spirit, the arts, and the creativity of our community, we hope you watch our event and check out the exhibit. Both are so, so beautiful

In the meantime, our work continues as all of us feel the weight of this moment. We are committed to the power of sharing space, breath, and creativity, because we believe that this care work of continuing not in spite of, but because of, is a part of the (r)evolution of access that is long overdue. When the night is cold and stark
Swoop in like an owl in the dark.
Wise animals hold the key:
Collaborate until we agree
Under light of stars and moon
You will hear steps coming soon
Hold no fear when enemies attack
Because the night owl has your back
The mission of a warrior is an art:
Honor, giving, and just doing your part.

Upstream Arts is proud to be a presenter at this Saturday's Discover Abilities Virtual Expo. Explore all the Midwest has to offer in the world of adaptive sports and recreation, resources, programs, and opportunities to stay physically, mentally and socially active from home and within your community. There will be virtual presentations, demonstrations, fitness classes, and various other activities offered throughout the day!
