Faculty and Staff NewsSt. Michael's is excited to announce that Alison Roussy ’92 will be our new Admissions Associate, spearheading Middle School admissions and supporting Betty Isaacs’s work in the Lower School. As a proud alumna and parent of two Dragons, Alison is already an important member of our community. Professionally, she comes to us from the Greater Richmond Bar Foundation, where since 2013 she has been the Director of Administration, handling everything from database management and event planning to marketing and communications. Committed to serving a mission larger than herself, Alison brings a wealth of nonprofit experience which has honed her technical skills, focus on details, and whatever-it-takes approach. Those who have witnessed her serving in any number of St. Michael’s volunteer roles (room parent, head room parent, admissions volunteer, Magic Dragon Day co-chair) can attest to this. Alison earned her undergraduate degree in Speech Communications with a minor in advertising from James Madison University after graduating from Trinity Episcopal School.
Dr. Katie Best, Director of Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment has accepted a position as Collegiate's Chair of Upper School Academic Services and will be leaving St. Michael's later this summer. For Katie this is an opportunity to get back to work that is near to her heart, working directly with students to help them be their best selves. Katie’s list of accomplishments since joining St. Michael’s in 2016 is simply too long for this note. However, any such list would have to include co-chairing the School's VAIS re-accreditation committee, working at the center of the Strategic Plan, playing a leading role in planning and executing the move to a single campus, helping to hire and mentor a host of remarkable new faculty members, transforming the way we think about individual and shared goals... the list goes on and on. Please join us in offering Katie heartfelt thanks for her transformative work.
