Dianna King founded Eat Unrestricted, a vegan cheese company that she started in 2020 in response to the limited plant-based, vegan food available on the market. She credits Scheller College’s Evening MBA program for helping her to think more strategically as she grows her business while she attends evening classes and works full-time as a project manager and research engineer at Georgia Tech Research Institute (GTRI).

Parking & Transportation has converted to a new parking management system called Drive Ahead. This brand-new customer portal has been fashioned to increase functionality and offer more user control and an overall better experience. Driver's Seat features a fresh new layout and is also mobile-friendly. Customers will be able to access the new portal using the current Drivers Seat URL: www.driversseat.gatech.edu.

Wellness Opportunity: Open Enrollment for Student Health Insurance Program (SHIP) opens soon
|
The enrollment/waiver period for Georgia Tech’s Student Health Insurance Program (SHIP) provided by Stamps Health Services opens on July 24 and closes on September 25. Coverage for this policy year will begin on August 1, 2023, and end on July 31, 2024. This program is available for enrolled undergraduate and graduate students and their eligible dependents who do not already have insurance and includes comprehensive covered benefits (medical, dental, vision, prescription, and worldwide travel). Register for a Suicide Prevention QPR Training Today!
|
Suicide is preventable and we all can play a role in offering help and support. The 2-hour QPR training includes an hour of didactic instruction, followed by role-playing exercises, and time for questions and discussion. QPR stands for Question, Persuade and Refer — the 3 simple steps anyone can learn to help save a life from suicide. All students, faculty, and staff are invited to attend these trainings to learn about the warning signs of suicide and how to help a person in distress. Virtual and in-person trainings are available.

The international doctorate symposium, Divergence in Architectural Research, organized by the ConCave Ph.D. Student Group, takes place on April 4-5, 2024, This symposium provides a platform for the exchange of cutting-edge research in architecture and design-allied fields. Ph.D. students whose work emerges from the architectural domain and related fields are encouraged to submit their abstracts. Abstracts should be no longer than 300 words and must clearly outline the research objectives, methodology, and key findings or contributions. PACE is pleased to announce the launch of the "EVPR - PACE Student HPC Innovation Program" (EVPR-PACESHIP). EVPR-PACESHIP provides compute and storage credits on PACE resources to students without faculty advisors. The objective is to provide a pool of resources for projects and unfunded student research that can benefit from PACE’s computing resources. EVPR-PACESHIP requires a student, or a group of students (team), to apply for compute and storage credits by providing a description of their project and computational resource needs via InfoReady (Georgia Tech's Competition System).

Funding Opportunity: IAEA Marie Sklodowska-Curie Fellowship Program (MSCFP)
|
The program aims to inspire and encourage young women to pursue a career in nuclear related field, by providing highly motivated female students with scholarships for Master’s programmes and an opportunity to pursue an internship facilitated by the IAEA. Scholarships are awarded annually, to 100+ female students. The selected students are awarded up to €20,000 for tuition costs and up to €20,000 for living costs for their Master’s programme. Upon completion of their studies, students are also given an opportunity to pursue an internship for up to 12 months at the IAEA, its partner organizations or industry. Additionally, students are provided with opportunities to attend and participate in various educational, professional and networking events. The next application call is scheduled to open in mid-July 2023 and will close by end of September 2023.
