TOMORROW BUS IS GATHERING STEAM
Be sure to watch for the Tomorrow Bus coming to a school near you! In March the bus partnered with the Structured Skills Center near Springwater Trail High School.
As  you can see, elementary and secondary students had hands and minds “switched on” when they participated in lessons on “The Salmon Experience.”
ENGLISH LANGUAGE LEARNER DEPARTMENT WILL NOW BE KNOWN AS THE MULTILINGUAL DEPARTMENT
Name change reflects an inclusive, asset-based approach 
Change also highlights and honors students' cultural and linguistic backgrounds
MULTI-FACTOR AUTHENTICATION (MFA) COMING TO GBSD
K-12 schools are ever increasing target of online scams and data theft
Implementing MFA will make it more difficult for criminals to disrupt school and steal student data
UPDATE FROM DISTRICT WELLNESS COMMITTEE
Instructional coaches, teachers, counselors, and administrators make up committee
Work of the committee focuses on improving staff wellness in a variety of ways
Learning in Progress! Mrs. Galloway’s first grade students at Powell Valley Elementary used their problem solving and persuasive skills on an igloo STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) activity. Students created a plan, built it, collaborated and reflected on their work.
Check out the innovation skills of Mrs. McKenzie’s 5th graders at Hogan Cedars Elementary! Students created a tower garden by planting rainbow chard, kale seeds, and lettuce. Mrs. McKenzie wrote a grant last year to get this project started.
The Gresham Outlook is shining the spotlight on East Gresham Elementary second grade teacher Logan Benfield for his focus on social emotional health! Mr. Benfield focuses on empathy and works to keep students engaged.
