IUP President Michael Driscoll speaks into a microphone at a wooden podium with the IUP seal in red on its front. The background is very dark, and an exit sign glows in red amid the darkness.
Join President Michael Driscoll for the Opening of the Academic Year on Friday at 9:00 a.m. in Fisher Auditorium or via livestream. Other speakers will include Provost Lara Luetkehans and leaders of various IUP union chapters and student and academic governing bodies. At 11:30 a.m., head to a picnic in the Oak Grove and fill your plate for $10.

UNIVERSITY NEWS
The Teagle Foundation and the National Endowment for the Humanities have awarded IUP $200,000 to help the Big Ideas: Transformative Culture and the Professions certificate program reach more students. The funding will support faculty training, graduate-student tutors and instructors, and out-of-classroom experiences.
ACHIEVEMENTS
This gallery of outstanding seniors recently gained five new members. They count among their experiences founding Women in Business, studying in Shanghai, working for AmeriCorps, joining a Big Four accounting firm, and finding the right fit as a transfer student. See who they are.
Tubaphonium Ensemble members and their professor, Zach Collins, were featured performers at the International Euphonium and Tuba Festival in Atlanta in June. The event included solo performances and competition, lessons from world-renowned artists, and performances of compositions by Collins, including the world premiere of his “It’s Just More Fun. . . .”
