Younts family creates significant impact for business students with $2.5M Academic Cornerstone gift
The Melvin and Dollie Younts Trading Room is a new state-of-the-art learning laboratory for Clemson students to immerse themselves in financial markets around the globe. With a hands-on environment of terminals that provide real data feeds, students receive a real-world experience that positions them to improve and enhance their investment skills. The Melvin and Dollie Younts Trading Room is located in the new Wilbur O. and Ann Powers College of Business and was established with a generous investment of $2.5 million.

TransDigm creates 150 Doug Peacock Scholarships for underrepresented students
TransDigm Group Incorporated has created scholarships at Clemson University to address the financial need of promising undergraduates from backgrounds that are historically underrepresented on college campuses. The Doug Peacock Scholarship will provide 150 awards over the next five years. These scholarships will support students in business at the Wilbur O. and Ann Powers College of Business and students in engineering at the College of Engineering, Computing and Applied Sciences who participate in Peer and WISE.

Kim Wilkerson: A dynamic leader who keeps family first
When Kim Wilkerson graduated from Clemson University in 1980 with a degree in financial management, the Clemson Board of Trustees member and banking executive of more than 40 years embarked on a career in a male-dominated industry. Bear Walker, graphic communications '11, is the owner and operator of Bear Walker Board Shop, where he makes custom skateboards. His unique grip and detailed designs have boosted his skateboards into national prominence, not only as a way to get from here to there, but also as pieces of pop-culture art, featuring the likes of Pikachu, Pennywise and Spider-Man.
