Traveling over Winter Break? With the holidays and breaks ahead, we want to remind you about NYU’s policy on personal travel. Keep in mind that travel to restricted states or any other country will result in required quarantining. We urge you to keep in mind that travel restrictions can change rapidly with little notice. Depending on where you go, you may encounter challenges in departing a country or area, or face difficulties when you try to return. Should you need to conduct essential international travel, we are encouraging members of the community to plan on extra time for travel and register your trip with NYU Traveler to access Public Safety assistance while traveling. And if you do decide to travel, be sure to also review our travel page.

Need a travel signature? If you do intend to travel, you may need a travel signature. Due to Coronavirus-related concerns, there are no in-person travel signatures available. To request a travel signature at this time, please complete the OGS Document Release Form and we will provide your updated document with travel signature to you.

Travel AdvisoriesPlease note, there are currently travel restrictions in place in many countries due to COVID-19 that may affect your travel.
There is currently an entry ban for all non-citizens of the US (except lawful permanent residents and immediate family members of US citizens and lawful permanent residents) who are traveling into the United States who have been in any of the following areas within 14 days prior to traveling: China, Brazil, Iran, the Schengen Area, UK, and Ireland. These restrictions are in place even if you are just transiting through any of these areas. Please note: For those traveling from China, Brazil, and Iran, this entry ban is applied even to those with valid F-1 and J-1 visas.
For those traveling from the Schengen Area, the UK, and Ireland, if you have a valid F-1 visa you will still be able to travel into the US. If you are traveling with a J-1 visa, you must contact your nearest US embassy or consulate to initiate an exception request to be able to travel.
