As a new academic year begins, University faculty and staff are reminded of resources and reminders regarding artificial intelligence in teaching, research, information discovery and daily work.

- AI Office Hours will take place tomorrow from 1-2 p.m. The virtual drop-in session provides an informal space for faculty, staff and students to ask practical questions about using artificial intelligence in teaching, research and daily work.
|
Thomas Barton McTeer Jr. ’60, whose service to Clemson University included 50 years on the Board of Trustees and a term as chairman during a defining period in the University’s history, died on August 21, 2026. McTeer was elected to the board on June 9, 1976, beginning a 35-year tenure as an active trustee, which would become the third-longest in Clemson history.

- A retirement drop-in reception will be held on Wednesday, August 26, from 3-4:30 p.m. for Chief Facilities Officer Todd Barnette. The reception will take place at The Common Ground University Maintenance Shops.
- Empower, the provider of South Carolina’s Deferred Compensation program, is hosting a webinar on Friday, August 28, at noon. The session will include an overview of plan options, enrollment steps and a live Q&A session. Registration is required to attend.
