UChicago Graduate Council invites you to the Gargoyle Gala
We are your 2022–2023 Graduate Council co-presidents, and we are so excited you are part of the incomparable graduate community at the University of Chicago! Mark your calendars because Gargoyle Gala 2022 is just a few weeks away! This year’s event will be held at Tao Chicago on Saturday, November 12 from 6:00–10:00 p.m. Tickets for the event are $50, and the second round of ticket sales via the Eventbrite page is coming up on October 23 at 5:00 p.m. CT.

The University and UChicago Medicine are offering a number of dedicated COVID-19 vaccination clinics this autumn. These clinics offer the new bivalent vaccine and are open to employees and students who need either the primary series or booster. To schedule an appointment for one of these dates, you must call 773-834-8221. Online scheduling is not available for these dates. Appointments are limited, so please book soon.

Private Equity Case Challenge (PECC) Apply by Thursday, October 27, 11:59 p.m.
The Private Equity Case Challenge (PECC) is a case competition that enables teams from Chicago Booth to assess the potential for a leveraged buyout of a publicly-listed company and compete for a cash prize. A finals round during fall quarter determines the winning team that will advance to the global finals hosted by Oxford University in the spring.

International Allies Program Apply to be a mentor or mentee by November 6
As a part of this peer-to-peer mentoring program, students in their second year and beyond will serve as mentors to international students in their first or second year of graduate school.
PhD Students: Apply to Be a Teaching Consultant! Apply by November 9
The Chicago Center for Teaching and Learning is now accepting applications for the Winter Quarter Teaching Consultant (TC) program. TCs are hired on a renewable, quarterly basis to provide peer feedback to other graduate student instructors and TAs through Mid-Course Reviews and Individual Teaching Consultations. All TCs receive comprehensive training, a $500 quarterly stipend, and opportunities for mentorship and professional development.

Wellness Coaching + Timely Care
Wellness Coaching is an opportunity for students to examine their strengths with a wellness coach to navigate transitions and achieve desired changes they’d like to make in their lives. Brief Alcohol Screening and Intervention for College (and Graduate) Students (BASICS)

Buddy Up offers graduate and professional students the opportunity to join a network of peers wanting to meet and connect with students across campus. Walking Buddies connects students who are interested in walking or running for fun or walking with someone to and/or from campus. Let’s Talk provides easy access to free, informal, and confidential consultations with therapists from UChicago Student Wellness. No appointment is necessary. If you prefer, you do not have to give your name. Autumn Quarter Let's Talk will be held on Mondays from 1–2 p.m. in the Center for Identity + Inclusion and Fridays from 3–4pm in the Biological Sciences Learning Center from September 26–December 9 (no session on November 25).
Academic Skills Assessment Program (ASAP)
The Academic Skills and Assessment Program (ASAP) is designed to help students improve their academic performance by addressing a number of concerns that can interfere with effective learning. ASAP targets a wide range of issues through workshops or individual appointments, including: time management, learning and memory, test anxiety, and more.

Tickets include open bar access (wine, beer, well-liquor, and soft drinks) as well as delicious food from Tao’s restaurant (passed hors d’oeuvres, dinner stations, and dessert). Guests will have access to both floors of the venue, two live DJs, a glam photo booth, and professional photography* by Justin Barbin.
Semiformal attire is strongly recommended. Please see Tao’s website for dress code policies. A free coat check will be available for all guests.
The Gargoyle Gala is open to UChicago graduate students and one guest per student. All attendees must have purchased a ticket, be 21+, and bring a valid legal ID to enter Tao. Doors will close at 8:00 p.m.
