Kevin Johnson ’99, a middle school language arts teacher at Lynnville-Sully Community School District in Sully, Iowa, has invited Drew Gallagher, an ESPN producer, into his classroom as a virtual guest for nearly a decade. Gallagher produced a 10-minute documentary called “The Man in the Red Bandana,” which Johnson shows as part of an eighth-grade study on the 9/11 terrorist attacks. The class then interviews Gallagher virtually.
This year, Johnson, his wife
Sara Cerwinske Johnson ’00 and children
Madison ’22 and Noah, were invited to College GameDay, ESPN’s pre-game show, as Gallagher’s guests prior to the Iowa vs. Iowa State rivalry game on Saturday, Sept. 11. Check out the Johnsons on
College GameDay's Twitter!

local newspaper.
