On the evening of Thursday, Jan. 23, a group from Walsh University embarked on a journey to Washington, D.C., for the 52nd Annual March for Life. The pilgrimage included 39 students and three staff members, organized by Campus Ministry and Cavs for Life. Traveling overnight, the group arrived at the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception, joining 5,000 other faithful pilgrims for the Closing Mass, celebrated by Bishop Robert J. Brennan of Brooklyn. Following the Mass, University Chaplain Fr. Albert Trudell led a brief tour of the Dominican House of Studies. After a quick lunch break, the Walsh delegation joined tens of thousands of participants in marching through Capitol Hill. Carrying handmade signs, they prayed for the end of abortion, called for justice, and engaged in meaningful conversations with fellow pro-life advocates, celebrating the beauty and sanctity of life. | View Photos
The National March for Life Association posted the Cavs for Life bus photo on their Instagram story shared with their 250,000 followers, and Walsh University President Dr. Tim Collins was quoted in the Cardinal Newman Society Blog, emphasizing the importance of the March for Life, stating, “You can’t say you care if you’re not there. The March is all about human dignity but, more broadly, what we’re really standing up and saying is life matters, and we ought to respect it at all stages.” | Read More
