Welcome to the weekly UTLC Newsletter supporting teaching and learning at UNCG.

|
|
This section is full of timely and evidence-based practices to apply in your teaching.
The UTLC has a new and improved website (utlc.uncg.edu) that was launched over Fall break! To make the most out of the new website and updated resources, this week's teaching tips highlight new website features that can be accessed at any time to enhance your teaching and learning practices.
-
LinkedIn Learning Playlists. Now that UNCG is a LinkedIn Learning member, our team has curated several LinkedIn Learning playlists to learn about various teaching and learning topics to explore from the comfort of your office. The How we Learn playlist allows you to access the videos that interest you about various topics such as how people learn, active learning, student engagement and flipped classroom. Helping our Students do their Best Work introduces instructors to strategies on how to support students in developing scholarly practices while staying well, building resilience, mastering time management, and identifying effective study and note-taking techniques. Finally, our Generative AI playlist provides an overview of how these platforms work and how they can be used for instructional purposes.
-
Teaching Tips Blog. You asked, we answered! One of the challenging aspects of our former site was searching through teaching tips reaching back as far as Fall 2016. Our site now features a Teaching Tips Blog with the ability to search and browse past teaching tips. We are continuing to add past teaching tips prior to Fall 2022, but for now you can start browsing by tags like inclusive teaching, accessibility, and student engagement. You can use the teaching tips blog to get quick ideas and inspiration that you can immediately apply in your teaching.
-
Teaching Guides. Formerly known as on-demand resources, our new website launched with twelve teaching guides that provide in-depth resources on various topics. You may recognize many topics already, and we've also added brand new guides on using Generative AI in your teaching, Accessibility Compliance (including what to do if you receive an accessibility letter from OARS), and an introduction to Universal Design for Learning. We plan to update and add more teaching guides regularly so make sure to bookmark our teaching guides landing page so you can stay up-to-date!
After you've had a chance to check out the new website, let us know what you think! We would love to hear from you via email (utlc@uncg.edu) or by completing the quick and anonymous form below.
