New month, same Friends!

I like to blame the pumpkins. In my memory, ours were the long, skinny sort, excellent candidates for dinner, less promising as a round, grinning head on the doorstep. It feels as though someone finally worked out how to supply those enormous orange ones and removed our last practical objection.

That is, admittedly, a rather unfair history of Australian horticulture. The less entertaining explanation is that growers and retailers have responded to demand for ornamental and carving varieties. But “we were waiting for the right pumpkin” remains a very satisfactory Australian excuse.

Looking beyond our own doorstep, October 31, November 1, and November 2 offer a fascinating reminder that different communities approach this time of year in very different ways.

The ordering deadline is this Tuesday, November 3rd.

To access your child’s photos, you can enter the site below + your child’s first and last name with no spaces.

There you will find your child’s portraits! In your gallery, you will see “print shop” at the top. That is where you can purchase individual photos or your entire album. We have decided to offer digital images only this year. The cost for each photo is $40 or you can get your child’s entire album for $70.

Our photographer, Kathryn recommends printing at a high quality printer for the best quality photos. You can print through her shop or from some of her favorite printers; Nation’s Photo Lab, Miller’s, or MPix.
