Motor Vehicle Theft

On Wednesday, July 3, 2024 at approximately 8:25 p.m., the Department of Campus Safety received a report of a motor vehicle theft that occurred between 9:00 a.m. and 6:45 p.m., in front of 230 Mercer Street in Manhattan.

The complainant, an NYU student, reported that they parked their black 2019 Yamaha MT07 motorcyle outside of 230 Mercer Street at 9:00 a.m. and when they returned at 6:45 p.m., realized the motorcycle was stolen.

The complainant filed a police report with the NYPD's sixth precinct.

In addition to parking in a gated or designated parking area, consider using a heavy duty lock and/or chain to secure your vehicle.

Do not leave your vehicle for extended periods of time.
If you are the victim of a crime, do not engage with the assailant as that may put you in further danger.
