Student Teacher

Spencer Flood has completed her student teaching placement at LeRoy-Ostrander Schools with Tiffany Timm, Agricultural Education Instructor and FFA Advisor. Spencer was Mrs. Timm's fifth student teacher and the first one from South Dakota State University (SDSU).

Spencer has had one of the most unique student teaching experiences with COVID protocols, hybrid learning, and now finally in-person learning in her final weeks. Learn more about Spencer below.

SMEC Outdoor Career Exploration Event

The Southern Minnesota Education Consortium of high schools will be hosting an outdoor career exploration event on the grounds of the SMEC Education Center, east of Austin, MN. The event will take place on Tuesday, May 11th with COVID protocols in place.

Applicants must be aged 16-22 and meet at least one of the following:

First Generation Student (neither parent has a college degree)
Economic Barriers (income level could meet eligibility for reduced school lunches)
Member of a Racial/Ethnic Minority

Empty the Warehouse - FREE Equipment!

Explore The Trades and NexTech Academy have partnered to “empty the warehouse” to benefit plumbing, heating, cooling and electrical classrooms throughout Minnesota.

All Minnesota high schools that have existing plumbing, HVAC and electrical classes – or those looking to start such classes – are invited to review the online catalog. All equipment is in excellent shape and was only used for demonstration purposes.
