Prairie Meadows is proud to invest in the future of healthcare education in Iowa through a 2025 $650,000 Legacy Grant supporting Mercy College of Health Sciences and its new Joyce E. Lillis School of Nursing. This transformational project expands nursing education opportunities, enhances hands-on clinical training, and helps meet Iowa’s growing demand for skilled healthcare professionals. Prairie Meadows served as host for the 2026 Leaders Luncheon, bringing together community and business leaders committed to strengthening Central Iowa’s future through Scouts and Scouting programs in central Iowa. An All-Star Evening is an inspiring night alongside The Robert D. and Billie Ray Center, celebrating the impact of character and leadership in our communities. The event highlighted a shared commitment to investing in people, especially young people, by helping them grow into leaders who act with integrity and lift others along the way. Through its partnership with Character Counts, Prairie Meadows continues to support initiatives that strengthen communities across Iowa. Surrounded by passionate educators, mentors, and leaders, the night was a powerful reminder that real impact starts with those who show up and invest in the next generation. Prairie Meadows is grateful to play a role in that mission.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who donated to the Prairie Meadows food drive! Thanks to your incredible generosity, we were able to collect 1,671 items to support our hardworking backside staff and team throughout this race season. This effort goes far beyond numbers and represents a community coming together to care for the people who play such an important role behind the scenes. These donations help to ensure that these dedicated individuals have access to food each day. It’s a powerful reminder of what we can accomplish when we come together for a great cause. The Glass Slipper Ball is Ballet Des Moines’ annual fundraising gala celebrating the very best Des Moines has to offer. The elegant, sold-out evening brought together 250 guests from emerging leaders to established community icons for a memorable night of fine dining, custom cocktails, and exceptional artistic experiences. Inspired by Ballet Des Moines’ upcoming world premiere of Cinderella in collaboration with the Des Moines Symphony, the event beautifully showcased the creativity and vibrancy of our region. Prairie Meadows is honored to support an organization that enriches our cultural landscape and brings world-class artistry to central Iowa.

Animal Rescue League’s Raise Your Paw Auction is the organization’s largest annual fundraiser dedicated to caring for the thousands of pets who come through its doors each year. The disco-themed evening brought together a passionate community of animal lovers for a fun and meaningful night featuring live music, appetizers, and the chance to bid on more than 250 silent and live auction items. Guests also enjoyed special moments like visiting with the ARL’s TheraPet teams and relaxing in the popular Kitten Cuddle Lounge, making the event both heartwarming and memorable. Prairie Meadows was proud to be part of an event that helps provide care, shelter, and second chances for animals in need while strengthening the bond between pets and the people who love them.

The Viktors at Grand View University is a high-energy evening dedicated to celebrating the achievements of Viking scholar-athletes. The event recognized the hard work, leadership, and commitment these students demonstrate both in competition and in the classroom. Bringing together student-athletes, coaches, and supporters, The Viktors highlighted the positive impact of athletics in shaping well-rounded individuals. Prairie Meadows is proud to be part of an event that celebrates excellence, perseverance, and success on and off the field.

The Bowl for Kids’ Sake is a signature fundraiser for Big Brothers Big Sisters, bringing the community together for a fun and meaningful cause. This nationwide event encourages individuals and teams to raise vital funds that support mentoring programs for local youth, making a lasting impact with just a small effort. After fundraising, participants gathered to celebrate their contributions at a lively bowling event, highlighting the spirit of teamwork and community. Prairie Meadows is honored to be part of an initiative that helps create positive, supportive relationships for young people and strengthens the future of our community.

Prairie Meadows was proud to support Grand View University’s partnership in Rotary’s 2026 fundraiser, a lively Roaring 20s-themed gala. Guests embraced the spirit of the Jazz Age with themed attire, music, and a festive atmosphere that celebrated a transformative era in American culture. The evening brought the community together for a fun and engaging event, complete with friendly competition for best-dressed attendees and time to connect over food and drinks. Prairie Meadows is dedicated to being part of events like this that blend community spirit, history, and philanthropy in support of meaningful local initiatives.

The 12th Annual Changemakers Event highlighted an important mission to prevent stillbirths through the Count the Kicks program. Prairie Meadows is committed to uplifting Iowans by supporting initiatives that strengthen maternal and infant health, bring hope to families, and help build healthier communities across the state.
