Say NO to cuts to NIH, AHRQ, HRSA, CDC!
We were deeply saddened and frustrated by the cuts to health care access and food assistance that President Trump signed into law on July 4th. These are expected to lead to nearly 12 million more uninsured in 2034 and 22.3 million families losing some or all of their food benefits, and will also significantly negatively impact rural hospitals, community health centers, and nursing homes. On the heels of these cruel cuts to our already meager safety net, Congress is now debating the Fiscal Year 2026 cuts to discretionary programs proposed by the President. These include a 40% cut to the NIH, a 54% cut to the CDC, the elimination of AHRQ, and a $1 billion cut to health workforce programs, among many other cuts and changes. Now is the time to voice your opposition to these cuts. Send letters to your members of Congress here. And participate in a Day of Action on Monday, July 21st to protect federal investments in research and innovation.
