Receiving financial aid? Class attendance is critical

In order to receive certain types of federal or state financial aid, you must initiate attendance in each class you are registered for within the first two weeks of the term. For in person classes — it’s easy — just show up for your scheduled class periods. For online or hybrid classes, participating in assigned activities, like blog posts, quizzes or writing assignments will satisfy the initiation of attendance requirement. If you have not initiated attendance or participation in all of your classes, the Office of Financial Aid will review your aid award, recalculate eligibility and if necessary, return some or all of your financial aid.

COVID guidance for 2023-24 at PSU

As part of PSU’s transition into the post-emergency phase of the pandemic, all COVID-related guidance and information will be maintained by the Center for Student Health and Counseling (SHAC). SHAC will provide the most up-to-date guidance on testing, exposure, and illness management. The bottom line: stay home until you are 24-hours without a fever. Consult with your individual professors if you have to miss class due to illness or other circumstances.

Demolition projects underway on campus

Students coming to campus should be aware of three demolition projects that are underway through Nov. 30: King Albert Residence Hall (pictured), Harder House and Parkway Residence Hall. These projects are crucial for the continued improvement of our campus facilities but may cause some inconveniences. Please follow all signage for alternate pathways and be aware that parking and traffic will be impacted in the area of SW 10th and SW Park, including the Parkmill parking lot. For project updates, subscribe to Impact Notices at the link below.
