Advanced Manufacturing: Harnessing Data to Lead Transformation

Mary Bunzel is executive director of UWM's interdisciplinary Connected Systems Institute. She is a thought leader and specialist in the area of integrated factory systems, maintenance and operations optimization, the Industrial IOT, and the science of reliability informed through connected systems and enhanced with advanced technologies. She will share advancements in manufacturing, the CSI mission and strategies to reach SMIs in Southeast Wisconsin, and how to bridge the gap between research and practice.

Dr. Alexis C. Lewis is the Deputy Division Director for the Division of Civil, Mechanical and Manufacturing Innovation in the Engineering Directorate at the National Science Foundation. At NSF, she has managed programs in Advanced Manufacturing, Materials Processing, and Data Initiatives, and participates in Foundation-wide efforts on Artificial Intelligence, Cyberinfrastructure, Public Access, and the Materials Genome Initiative.
