"Do you care what I think?" I heard a preacher ask a group of college students this question. They cheered their response: "Yes!"
"Don't," he said surprising us. "God's thoughts are higher than mine. Care what God thinks!"
By contrast with the fallen world which ran into trouble through it's "best thinking," Paul points Timothy and us to God's thoughts revealed in his word. Continue in what you have learned in the holy scriptures.
When you sit alone today, rest your eyes on God's word. It is profitable! Alone with our thoughts we may get in trouble. Focusing on God's word equips us to do the good works for which we were created.
