A Rosh Hashanah Video Message from Federation’s CEO, Gil Preuss

Rosh Hashanah is always an important time to look back and reflect. We must also use this new beginning to think about the future that we want to create together. So as we begin the New Year full of hopes and new opportunities, I wish you all a healthy and sweet New Year. Shanah Tovah u’Metukah!

Meet our Israeli Emissaries!

Federation proudly welcomes seven new or returning cultural and educational shlichim (emissaries) to Greater Washington for the 2017-2018 year. We’re thrilled to partner with The Jewish Agency for Israel for the second year of our Congregational Shlichim Program, bringing these talented young people into our local synagogues and schools. Their work will foster, enhance and deepen our connection to Israel and Israelis through one-on-one conversations, Shabbat dinners, community events and more.

The Blessings of Inclusion: Bringing the B’Yadenu Project to our Community

B’Yadenu (in our hands) strives to include the full spectrum of diverse learners in Jewish Day Schools by offering a whole-school approach that includes the needs of teachers, special educators, administrators and students, as well as the hopes of parents. Four local day schools will be integrating the program into their professional development in order to open their doors to students with atypical learning needs and be better positioned to serve more children in our community.
