• Whether heading out for some fun water activities or grilling out at home, it’s important to stay safe regarding extreme heat, thunderstorms, fireworks and boating safety this Fourth of July weekend.

• Clemson University and the city of Clemson are partnering to deliver the “Light the Lake” fireworks show over Lake Hartwell tonight between 9:15 and 9:30 p.m.

• Neither heat nor rain are slowing down the excitement and momentum as the Harvey S. Peeler Jr. College of Veterinary Medicine continues to take shape. Check out the latest construction updates on the facilities being built.

• A new study by Clemson University scientists unveiled a key section of DNA that helps peanuts stay productive in hot weather, which could help breed peanut plants with higher heat tolerance.

• The Clemson University Fire and EMS Department (CUFD) advises the University community to check their Anker power banks and stop using any of the recalled devices, as these devices pose a risk of fire and injury.

• Due to a technical issue, Clemson University Emergency Management will test the outdoor warning siren at the Tiger Band practice field, adjacent to Perimeter Road and the Brooks Center, at 3:30 p.m. today. No action is necessary.
