Celebrating 60 Years!

This week, we raised the flag on a new School year-- our 60th year of welcoming Dragons to our vibrant learning community! Since 1957, St. Michael's has been growing bright minds and servant hearts and we are honored and humbled to have touched the lives of so many children and families.

To kick off a year of celebration, this Friday, September 8, St. Michael's will hold a 60th Anniversary Chapel Service for Grades K-8 in the Church Sanctuary from 8:30-9 a.m., followed by the staging of a full school photo outdoors on the Lower School field. We expect the festivities to be completed by approximately 9:30 a.m.

Here are some important details:

  • Attire: Normal dress code. We do ask that all students and faculty please wear BLUE and WHITE.
  • Middle School Morning Drop-Off: Middle School students should be dropped off at the Lower School Church Sanctuary on Friday morning, NOT at the Middle School. MS Parents should park in the lot on McCrae Road and walk students across the road.
  • Middle School Carpool Drivers: should arrive by 9:20 a.m.
  • A separate email will be sent out to Middle School families next week to confirm details.

Due to capacity issues in the Church, this event is for students and faculty only. Please plan to celebrate with us at the October 5th Anniversary celebration. Details forthcoming.

Updated Allergy Protocol

If a student has severe life-threatening allergies and uses an epi-pen or rescue inhaler for severe asthma or breathing issues, we are asking that families complete the FARE Food Allergy and Anaphylaxis Emergency Care Plan with their healthcare provider and return a signed copy to School.
The FARE form is located in the School offices. (This form and a parent instruction letter has been sent home with children with known allergies.) Again, the plan must be completed by a health care professional with any accommodations that are to be implemented in the classroom. With no nurse on staff, the School needs to have clear instructions on medical intervention.
The School also conducts periodic staff training in identifying signs of anaphylaxis and administration of epi-pens.

Carpool Placards

A friendly reminder to place the nameplate for your student(s) on the front passenger visor facing out. This visual cue helps faculty call for the student(s) and thus keeps carline moving swiftly.  We also invite families to make their own placards for extra drivers.

Lower School Morning Drop-Off

Any Lower School students being dropped off BEFORE 7:55 a.m. should be delivered to the Gym for supervised care.

Middle School Mountain Biking

For those that have signed up, Middle School Mountain Biking begins on Thursday, September 7 from 3-4:30 p.m. Remember to bring a bike and helmet. St M will provide bike storage.
