Biery Family Legacy Continues with Major Investment in Walsh University Baseball Stadium |

Walsh University is proud to announce a leadership gift from Ben (’00) and Michelle (’98) Biery that will help upgrade Biery Family Baseball Stadium and Tim Mead Field, enhancing the facility for the next generations of Walsh University baseball players. The gift represents one of the largest in Walsh University Cavalier Athletics history and continues a family legacy of generosity, leadership and service to Walsh University and the greater Canton and Louisville communities.
The planned improvements will center on the installation of a top-of-the-line synthetic turf infield designed to provide elite performance and long-term durability. Additional upgrades will include updated backstop and netting, outfield netting, a new scoreboard, improvements to the batting cages, press box enhancements, dugout upgrades, seating improvements and other fan and player amenities.
The groundbreaking is planned for late summer with a formal dedication ceremony expected in the fall. READ MORE

Walsh University Awarded for Top Undergraduate Student Experience |
At a time when students, families, and policymakers are asking harder questions about the real value of a college degree, Walsh University offers a crystal-clear answer. For more than 10 years running, Colleges of Distinction has named Walsh University a 2026-2027 College of Distinction, a designation reserved for institutions whose dedication to the undergraduate experience involves critical opportunities like undergraduate research, collaborative coursework, immersive service-learning and mentored internships.
The award signifies a school’s adherence to four distinctions: Engaged Students, Great Teaching, Vibrant Community, and Successful Outcomes. Rather than relying on endowment figures or selectivity rates, Colleges of Distinction conducts in-depth research and direct interviews with each institution, selecting only those whose campuses reflect a genuine, student-first philosophy.
“Today’s students are navigating a college landscape shaped by rising costs, rapid technological change, and real uncertainty about the future of work,” said Tyson Schritter, Chief Operating Officer at Colleges of Distinction. “What they need from higher education isn’t just a credential, but preparation for the world ahead. Walsh University delivers that through the kind of intentional, high-impact education that equips students for whatever comes next.”
