What Would I Do Differently as a Judge?

I will not cover up any wrong doings because I will not receive monies from politicians or lobbyists.Guffee has raised $23,274 for her campaign according to a campaign finance disclosure filed April 11. Her donors include Williamson County mayor Rogers Anderson and Williamson County judges including Michael Binkley, Joseph Woodruff and Deanna Johnson.I will not ask other officials to help cover up crimes against children.Putting children and families first has always been my priority. Everything else is a distraction:
Juvenile court is a place for effective intervention when struggling parents and children need support. Unfortunately, it has attracted the attention of pharmaceutical companies, health care facilities and other for profit agencies. If elected, I will treat each family member as if they were one of my own. We will talk about the situation which led to their involvement and, as a team, come up with solutions.
I believe that there needs to be a thorough investigation into each case rather than utilizing a “one-size fits all” approach. The issues have become much more complex in these times and there are many neurological disorders, including substance abuse, which can be treated medically. Disorders such as these do not respond to punitive measures. The goal is to personalize each plan based on rule outs.
Intakes will be much more thorough, trauma-informed care will be implemented and providing support will always be the first step. Should a youth or parent not respond, then we will consider other options. We truly do want to create healthy adults and healthy families. Juvenile courts are the perfect place to intervene.
