Let Your Professor Know If You Won’t Be Attending An In-Person Class
Dear Students,
Even as we resume classes on Monday, January 24, we know that some students will face challenges — isolation, quarantine, travel restrictions — that will make it impossible for them to be present for their in-person classes. We have anticipated that, and asked faculty members to make provisions for those students, particularly at the start of the semester.
If you are unable to be present for an in-person class, it’s important for you to advise your professor that you will not be able to attend in person. That way, the professor will know to put in place any necessary arrangements for you.
And remember: not being present for an in-person class is only meant to be a temporary situation. It is not meant to be an extended or long-term condition.
*January 24, 2022 is the general start date for spring semester classes; it varies by school. Where the general information differs from the school-specific information, follow the school-specific guidance.
