From The Department Chair

Greetings from the Department of Communication at Clemson University!
It has been quite some time since many of you walked these halls, and I am excited to share some updates on how the department has grown since then.
Our team of communication experts has expanded significantly, with 15 tenure-track faculty, 19 lecturers, five adjunct professors and several dedicated staff members. Our Communication and Sports Communication programs are still going strong, both on campus and beyond. And our Master of Arts in Communication (MAC) program continues to attract top talent from all over. Many of our graduates have gone on to secure positions in various industries, while others have pursued Ph.D.s at some of the most prestigious universities in the world.
One of our biggest sources of pride is the Social Media Listening Center, which recently moved into its brand new home on the fifth floor of the R.M. Cooper Library. Our Media Forensics Hub and Communication Center, located in the Watt Family Innovation Center, are also thriving, thanks to the expertise of our dedicated faculty and staff.
Speaking of our faculty, they are doing some truly groundbreaking research in collaboration with the Robert H. Brooks Sports Science Institute. The institute is thrilled to be hosting USA Today columnist Christine Brennan for our annual lecture in April! And let's not forget about our amazing debate team and student media outlets, both of which continue to make us proud.
Please join me in congratulating all our amazing people for their efforts in making our Department stand tall in the world of academic and student excellence.
Stay in touch.
