Transfer students living in Residential Life-managed housing: Beginning July 1, please visit the Housing Portal for information about your 2026–2027 Residential Life housing assignment, including roommate and suite mate details.
If applicable, students should reach out to their roommates/suite mates via their WashU email(s) to introduce themselves and discuss what items they will bring to the room or suite. View our packing list for suggestions.
We do our best to meet students' preferences. If your student wishes to request a room change, they can access the Room Change Form via the Request Forms tab on the Housing Portal. Room change requests will not be processed until after the first two weeks of fall classes.
Fall varsity athletes may have different arrival dates than those stated above. Please check with your student's head coach for more information.

WashU has partnered with GradGuard to offer renter's insurance to students. To obtain renter’s insurance, use the Request Forms tab on the Housing Portal. Residential Life strongly recommends that all students obtain renter's insurance prior to their scheduled move-in date and time either through GradGuard or another provider of their choice.

Until September 4, you have the option to adjust your meal plan by completing a Meal Plan Change Request Form via the Request Forms tab on the Housing Portal.
Meal plan changes can affect your financial aid package. Reach out to your Student Financial Services Counselor prior to submitting a Meal Plan Change Request Form to discuss how changes might impact your award.

| Health & well-being updates |

All WashU students must complete the following health and wellness requirements:
|
|
|
|
When sending items to campus, do not include your residence hall name. Instead, use your MSC number to ensure your package is routed to the correct location. Think of your MSC as your campus "apartment number." It helps our Mail & Receiving Services team get your package to your assigned mail center as efficiently as possible.
USPS, UPS, FedEx, and other parcel services deliver to your WashU campus mailing address.
You can find your MSC and mailing address through your housing assignment in Workday.
Here's how to address your mail:
First and Last Name
MSC XXXXX
6515 Wydown Boulevard
St. Louis, MO 63105-2215
Mail & Receiving Services will begin accepting packages on August 1. Please do not send items prior to this date.

WashU encourages students to sign up for direct deposit, the quickest and most convenient way to receive payments from the university. This can include financial aid refunds and pay from campus jobs.
To enroll, visit the Update Student Payment Elections page for step-by-step instructions.
