2023 Legislative Session Updates
With the end of the 2023 legislative session, there have been several updates to bills that impact Oklahoma’s film and television industry. SB 737 was approved by the Governor on 5/22/23. HB 2459 was sent to the Governor on 5/26/2023 and is awaiting signature. Specific legislative changes to the 'Filmed in Oklahoma Act' will be available soon via the OFMO website.

OF+MO Partners with 2023 deadCenter Film Festival
OF+MO is proud to be a returning partner of the 23rd annual deadCenter Film Festival to be held throughout downtown Oklahoma City and the surrounding area June 8-11. As part of the partnership with the festival, OF+MO will be the official host of the Oklahoma Filmmakers Lounge, a designated venue that will serve as a hub for media and podcast interviews as well as a meeting space and refreshment area exclusively for this year’s participating filmmakers. From over 1,900 submissions, this year’s festival will feature 165 selections, including narrative features, short films, documentaries and more. A number of Oklahoma filmmakers will be represented at deadCenter, including Kyle Roberts whose latest feature film, “What Rhymes With Reason,” was produced in Oklahoma last year utilizing the state’s film incentive program and will celebrate its world premiere at the festival.

NOW ACCEPTING REBATE APPLICATIONS
Applications are now OPEN for Oklahoma film incentives; however due to pending legislation, potential applicants are encouraged to contact OF+MO directly regarding their interest in the programs. Please take note of the quarterly evaluation application deadlines for FY24 incentives for the 'Filmed in Oklahoma Act of 2021' (June 15, August 15, October 15, December 15, 2023; February 15, April 15, 2024).

Miami Achieves Oklahoma Film Friendly Certification
OF+MO is proud to announce Miami has achieved film friendly certification after completing the requirements for OF+MO’s Oklahoma Film Friendly Community Program. Administered by OF+MO, the Oklahoma Film Friendly Community Program seeks to help communities develop the necessary protocol and permits to attract and support film and television productions in their areas.

Guthrie First United Methodist Church
Built in 1907, the Guthrie First United Methodist Church has served the community in Oklahoma’s original capital city for over 125 years. The property boasts a breathtaking dome, large stained-glass windows, a balcony, amphitheater-style seating with semicircular pews and a magnificent organ. Additionally, the church features spaces for production offices, larger meeting rooms, a commercial kitchen and private parking lot. Guthrie First United Methodist Church can be seen in the upcoming feature film “Cricket’s Requiem.”
