Motor Vehicle Theft

On Monday, September 29, at 8:53 am, the NYU Department of Campus Safety received a report of a motor vehicle theft that occurred at 7:13 am outside of 238 Thompson Street in Manhattan.

The victim, a non-NYU affiliate, reported they parked a green Kawasaki Ninja 500 motorcycle on the east side of Thompson Street at 6:15 am and discovered it was missing at 8:00 am. A camera review showed the theft occurred at 7:13 am and the suspect fled south on Thompson Street towards West 3rd at 7:15 am.

The complainant filed a report with the NYPD.

In addition to parking in a gated or designated parking area, consider using a heavy duty lock and/or chain to secure your vehicle.
Do not leave your vehicle for extended periods of time.
