GTA Professional Development Training Opportunity
The University Core Curriculum Committee (UCCC) invites GTAs who will teach or support KU Core 34 courses during the 2026-2027 academic year to participate in a synchronous online training session before the fall semester. Participation is strongly recommended for first-semester GTAs teaching a KU Core 34 course and for experienced GTAs teaching a KU Core 34 course for the first time.

College Carnival
The annual College Carnival held on Academic Sunday will be August 23. This event is open to all students and will include games, prizes, food, and fun! Many College departments will be in attendance to share information on their academic programs and involvement opportunities. Over 500 students attended last year! The College Carnival will be held in Wescoe on the 4th floor, 11:30 a.m. - 2:30 p.m.

Transfer Student Appreciation Event
The College will be hosting a Hawk Week welcome event for Transfer Student Appreciation on Wednesday, August 26 from 9 a.m.- 4 p.m. in Strong Hall room 109. Please share this event with your students that have transferred to KU and let them know to stop by and see us for snacks, giveaways, and an opportunity to get to know the College!

Super Service Saturday
The Center for Community Outreach is hosting their biggest fall volunteering event, Super Service Saturday on August 29 and we would love to see the members of your organization sign up! Check-in will be at 9 a.m. on the 4th floor of the Kansas Union and volunteers will return to the Kansas Union at 2 p.m. after volunteering. This Hawk Week event offers students and faculty the chance to volunteer within the Lawrence community at various sites and to connect with fellow Jayhawks. There will also be free breakfast and a t-shirt for all who participate!

Volunteers needed for Jayhawks Give a Flock
On Sunday, August 16, and Saturday, August 22, volunteers will train all incoming first year students with the skills to be empowered and informed bystanders. Jayhawks Give a Flock provides students with the opportunity to shape campus culture, support their peers, and take an active role in preventing sexual violence at KU.

KU's annual open house event for prospective students is drawing near! This year's event will be held on Friday, October 16. Details on the College's programming and a call to participate will be sent out in early September.
