Presidential Search Committee

The Utah Board of Higher Education has named a 21-member committee (10 are alumni!) to conduct a national search for the next president of Southern Utah University.

Alumni Leadership Academy Begins January 24

Connect with fellow alumni and learn valuable skills by joining the Alumni Leadership Academy facilitated by former student body president Jon McNaughtan (‘09). This online, six-week certificate program begins Jan. 24, and will develop the leader in you. SUU alumni receive a 20% discount. Register today!

New Head Football Coach Announced

After a nationwide search, DeLane Fitzgerald was introduced as our new head football coach on December 14. He brings 22 years of college football coaching experience, including 13 years as a head coach, and a proven track record of building programs.

New Academic Classroom Rising from the Ground

Last June ground was broken on a new 90,000 square foot building that will add 14 new classrooms, seven computer labs, eight teaching studios, and numerous faculty offices to campus. Check out the progress via SUU webcam.

January 24: Alumni Leadership Academy begins. This six-week, online certificate program is designed to develop technical leadership skills and is offered exclusively to alumni and friends. Learning facilitators include: Jon McNaughtan, Sandra Lord Thomas, Whitney Johnson, Stuart Jones, Darin Bird and Michael Wasden. Learn more & register.

January 24: SUU Fan Fest, Join us for Fan Fest from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. in the Sharwan Smith Center Ballroom prior to the SUU vs. Weber State men's basketball game at 7 p.m. in the America First Event Center. Games, activities, food and more. Fan Fest is FREE and open to students, alumni and community members. See more.

March 21-26: Founders Week - SUU's Birthday Celebration. This year's festivities mark the kickoff to our 125th Anniversary Celebration. Mark your calendar and watch for more details.

April 4: Midland - The Last Resort Tour, 8 p.m. in the America First Event Center. Purchase tickets here, by calling (435) 586-7872 or at the Thunderbird Ticket Office. Concert details.

June 23-25: Alumni Days at Shakespeare. Come back to campus and enjoy the Utah Shakespeare Festival. Learn more and purchase your tickets.
