A Message From Lilburn CID Executive Director, Tad Leithead |
|
|
This season has been a remarkable period of progress and partnership for the Lilburn Community Improvement District. Together with our local and regional partners, we continue to invest in projects that strengthen connectivity, enhance safety and improve quality of life for everyone who lives, works and travels through Lilburn.
Our recent ribbon-cutting for the Bryson Park/Hood Road roundabout marked a major milestone for our community. This $4.3 million project is a powerful example of what collaboration can achieve — improving traffic flow, safety and accessibility while setting the stage for continued growth.

|
|
We’re also pleased to welcome Cole Porter, president and owner of Porter Steel, to our Board of Directors. Cole brings strong business experience, deep community ties and a commitment to servant leadership that will further strengthen our organization.
Beautification remains a central focus of our work. From our recent “Tad Talks” blog post to partnerships like the one with Pateco, which keeps Highway 29 clean and inviting, these initiatives reflect our belief that a well-maintained community fosters pride and attracts more investment.
Meanwhile, transformative development continues at The Porchline in Old Town Lilburn. As work advances on both the apartment building and parking deck, this project represents the kind of thoughtful redevelopment that drives local economic vitality.

Lilburn CID’s mission is built on vision, investment and collaboration. Together, we’re creating a safer, more connected and more beautiful Lilburn — one project at a time.

LCID Cuts the Ribbon on the Bryson Park/Hood Road Roundabout |
On September 23, Lilburn CID celebrated the completion of the Bryson Park/Hood Road roundabout with a ribbon-cutting ceremony marking a major community milestone.
The $4.3 million project — designed by Lilburn CID in partnership with the City of Lilburn — was funded through a $1 million Georgia Transportation Infrastructure Bank grant, $2.2 million from the City, $300,000 from Lilburn CID and additional contributions from Gwinnett County and GDOT. Breaking ground in 2023, the project transformed three intersections into a single, lighted roundabout to improve visibility, reduce congestion and enhance safety for drivers and pedestrians.
Speakers included Nicole Love Hendrickson, chairwoman, Gwinnett County Commission; Ben Ku, District 2 commissioner; Johnny Crist, mayor, City of Lilburn; and Tad Leithead, executive director, Lilburn CID. The event highlighted the success of public-private partnerships and Lilburn CID’s commitment to safer, more efficient transportation.

In the latest Tad Talks blog, Lilburn CID Executive Director Tad Leithead highlights how investing in beautification projects strengthens both the community and local economy.
Beautification is one of the most visible and impactful priorities for community improvement districts. Through landscaping, lighting, signage and clean, well-maintained public spaces, these efforts enhance curb appeal, attract visitors and support local businesses. A community that looks vibrant and well cared for builds trust, strengthens civic pride and encourages continued investment.
Lilburn CID’s ongoing beautification initiatives reflect this commitment to continuous improvement. By creating attractive, welcoming spaces, the CID helps foster growth, engagement and a stronger sense of place.

On the multi-family portion, framing remains active alongside mechanical, plumbing and electrical rough-ins. Windows and doors are scheduled to arrive soon, with installation to follow.
Lilburn CID looks forward to the continued progress of this transformative project.

Partnership with Pateco Keeps Highway 29 Clean and Welcoming |
|
|
Lilburn CID has partnered with Pateco to keep Highway 29 looking its best through regular street sweeping. Covering 16 miles of curb — 12 along the outside lanes and 4 on the inside — the sweeper operates during low-traffic hours to reduce disruptions while maintaining a clean, welcoming corridor from Jimmy Carter Boulevard to Ronald Reagan Parkway. Beautification and mobility remain core priorities for the CID, and we’re grateful to Pateco for supporting our efforts to enhance the appearance and experience of our community.
