Summer 2023 has been productive thus far. In fact, this May, the Lilburn CID (LCID) Board of Directors held its annual Caucus of Electors meeting to determine who would continue to serve on the board. I am pleased to announce that David Freeman and Arturo Adonay will continue on the board for another three-year term.
During May’s meeting, the board also elected to preserve the existing millage rate of 5-mills. LCID feels our current budget is being used effectively and can continue to fund improvements to our district in meaningful, long-lasting ways.
The board voted to consolidate the CID's landscaping contracts with Russell Landscaping to simplify the management and costs for continued maintenance and beautification within our district. Currently, we are awaiting supplementary pricing for new median landscaping on Indian Trail to beautify the entrance to Lilburn near I-85 Exit 101.
I am also pleased to announce that the steering committee for Lilburn’s updated Comprehensive Plan held its first meeting on June 22. This was the first of four planned meetings to update the five-year plan for Lilburn’s development using the recently adopted LCI Study as the basis. The steering committee is comprised of two CID representatives, including myself, and City representation. The steering committee exemplifies the continued productive partnership between the City of Lilburn and the CID and our united dedication to improving Lilburn for the benefit of all.
