| Meet Nutrition Major—Trevor Jones
|
This fall, the College of Health & Human Sciences proudly recognized Trevor Jones; a Nutrition major with a Pre-Professional Health concentration from McKinney, Texas, as its Banner Bearer. Chosen for outstanding achievement, he shared that the honor serves as a meaningful reminder of the support he has received throughout his academic journey.
Jones chose Nutrition for its strong foundation in biology, chemistry, physiology, and evidence-based practice—preparation that will enhance both his clinical training and future collaboration with registered dietitians. He especially values the college’s supportive community, real-world learning experiences, and opportunities for leadership and research, which helped spark his passion for oncology.
After graduation, he will pursue an M.D./Ph.D. at Baylor College of Medicine, focusing on immunotherapy research for breast and intestinal cancers, with the long-term goal of becoming a pediatric hematologist/oncologist.
