GLMS Foundation PPE Drive
The GLMS Foundation has distributed more than 120 PPE care packages to local physician practices since the onset of COVID-19. These care packages consisted of hand sanitizer, masks and gloves and were made possible through donations from local organizations as well as monetary donations from members like you. As of Nov. 18, $4,600 has been donated to purchase new PPE for these care packages and the Foundation has matched that amount. If you’d still like to make a PPE or monetary donation, you can do so here. Every dollar donated will be matched by the Foundation to purchase new PPE for this important cause.
Important Reminder: Mandatory Electronic Prescribing of Controlled Substances effective January 1, 2021
KRS 218A.182 mandates the electronic prescribing of controlled substances (EPCS) in Kentucky becomes effective Jan. 1, 2021. The Kentucky mandate is similar to the federal Medicare Part D EPCS mandate effective Jan. 1, 2021 but applies to all controlled substances prescribed in Kentucky - regardless of payer. Watch for an email in December with more information on this series and information on how to sign up.
More volunteers needed to deliver prescription medications!
Since the beginning of the pandemic, our GLMS members have partnered with our GLMS Foundation in delivering vital prescription medications to low-income quarantined patients in our community in conjunction with the Louisville Metro Public Health and Wellness Department. Recently, there has been a huge uptick in daily prescription delivery requests, and we need your help to meet this increasing demand. Without this program, these patients may not otherwise have access to their prescriptions. If you (or anyone in your practice or family) have any availability to help with these deliveries, please sign up here.
