Romans 12:9-10
Love must be sincere. Hate what is evil; cling to what is good. Be devoted to one another in love. Honor one another above yourselves.
New International Version (NIV)
Alistair Begg says on Halloween in Scotland they went to the store and bought "false faces."  This was the way they said, "Masks".  False faces.   Sounds scary!

The word hypocrite was a theatric term to describe those who wore masks in dramas.  This is the Greek word Paul used to describe the sincerity of our love:  unhypocritical.  Our love wears no masks.  There is no false face of pretense in Christian love.

As Christ's followers offering our lives as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God, we hate only what is evil and we hold on to what is good.  In church we commit ourselves to love each other and honor each other above ourselves.  Christian love is not self-centered.  Church is the place we take off our masks, and leave them at the altar, not to be put on again.
 Pray with me:
Father, you know the masks I wear.  I can fool all of the people some of the time and some of the people all of the time.  You are never fooled, so I won’t even try.  With Peter we say, “Lord you know everything:  you know that we love you.”  Let our love for you fill our souls until it overflows into the pews and the aisles and right out into the street.  In Jesus’ name.  Amen.
I want to invite you to join me in memorizing 52 passages this year from the 2017 set of Fighter Verses.  You can find the Fighter Verses App at the App Store on your phones or via this link  http://fighterverses.com/the-verses/fighter-verses/As we study the Bible this year, let's look at each text and learn what it says about God.
Joyfully,
