Be Inspired, invested, inclusive

This Just IN!

December 2022 Edition
It's official - the holiday season is in full swing. As we conclude 2022, we hope your time is not marked by hustle and bustle but instead by reflection, celebration, and hope. Our IN! team is reflecting on the great work this community has accomplished for students with intellectual disabilities, celebrating the development and growth of the students we serve, and hoping for all that is to come in 2023 until inclusive pathways become a part of the fabric of all colleges in Colorado.
As always, we hope you continue to be inspired, invested, and inclusive alongside us. In this newsletter, you will find:

Wrapping Up a Wonderful Semester!

The fall 2022 semester has officially wrapped up for the 70 college students that are enrolled across inclusive higher education programs at ACC, UCCS, and UNC. Students have concluded their final exams, gave their final presentations, and enjoyed some semester-end festivities across their campus before heading home for a well-deserved holiday break. IN! staff had the joy of visiting each campus this semester and observing students tackle all that college life brings. Students were loving their classes, their jobs, and the many activities they were involved with. See below for some highlights from each institution. Well done, students! We are so proud of you!
ACC:
Students from ACC Elevate welcomed our Executive Director, Tracy Murphy, to one of their weekly Dance Club gatherings. Melissa, the student 'breaking it down' in the red sweater, says this is a great way for her to relieve stress during the semester.
UCCS:
Students from the UCCS Office of Inclusive Services participated in service learning projects throughout the semester.  They then gave final presentations where they reflected on what they learned and how they grew. One of the students noted, "This semester was challenging but it was worth it!"
UNC:
Students from the UNC GOAL program hosted Lt. Gov. Dianne Primavera, showing her all the ways they are included across campus. One student described his experience with inclusion by saying, "If I want to go to a club, I can! If I want to go to an event, I can! It's so cool to know that I am a part of this campus just like any other student."

The Power of Partnership

In 2022, we were able to make a bigger impact across our state for students with intellectual disabilities and a college dream because of the power that comes from invested partnerships like the many you see listed here.
It is true that together we can accomplish far more than we can alone, and IN! is grateful for the passionate community that moves our work forward and ensures inclusion is being pursued in all spheres.
Thank you to our amazing corporate sponsors, community partners, and the ever-growing list of personal supporters. We are deeply grateful for everyone that believes in students with ID and makes our work possible - it takes a village!

Prospective Family Resources

We understand that sending your student with ID to college can be exciting, scary, and confusing all at once. So, we want to be a resource to you, helping you prepare for and navigate the path to inclusive higher education. Below are three key resources available to prospective families that we hope you take advantage of.
A newer resource is our weekly office hours on Tuesdays from 3-5pm. This is a standing time for families to schedule meetings with our Community Engagement Coordinator to ask direct questions and feel equipped to take the necessary next steps:
We truly hope you and your family have a wonderful holiday season. Thank you for being a part of our community and supporting our work!
Are you considering a year-end donation? We would be honored if you chose to give to our mission and help us continue to open doors and pave paths to inclusive higher education in our state.
