Welcome back L@s GANAS students and L@s GANAS advocates/supporters! We are so excited to kick-off the fall 2023 semester.

This fall, we have 24 Research Fellows (RF) starting research in a lab alongside L@s GANAS Faculty mentors. They will also be joining Aixa Alfonso in a Research Fellow professional development workshop every week to learn how they can apply what they learn in the lab to their professional careers. 

We also have 36 new mentees and 32 mentors participating our Mentoring Con GANAS program. All students are enrolled in a Leadership Development Seminar once a week, where they learn about opportunities for STEM students at UIC and develop their professional skills to prepare them for exciting opportunities such as internships, research, study abroad, etc. 

Last but not least, we have welcomed 12 L@s Ganas student ambassadors who help create a welcoming and supportive community for all of our participants.
