Annual Tri-County Visual Arts Festival

Everybody has a skill, a talent, an interest, or a special quality that they are passionate about. We call these things SPARKS. They provide joy, purpose, and direction. You guessed it, this year's theme is "Find your SPARKS!" Draw, paint, photograph, or create art that brings you joy, purpose, and passion!  
Scan/photograph your artwork and use this official entry form to submit your entry. Please complete a separate form for each piece of artwork that you submit. All entries must be submitted by Sunday, March 6 by 11:59 p.m. Prizes will be awarded for each category.

YQCA Certificates

Completed or planning to complete YQCA certification soon? 

Print certificates by March 22 with the current system or wait until after March 23 to complete training on the new system.

YQCA is moving to a new online platform for registrations and http://yqca.org certificates that will launch on March 23, 2022!  On that date, users (youth or YQCA instructors) who have completed training will no longer be able to log in to their account and access their certification information. 
If you have completed, or plan to complete, YQCA before March 22, please download and print off your current and valid certification from http://yqca.org. Attached please find a file showing how to download and print from the website. Please send a copy of your certificate to katie.gindt@wisc.edu for her to give you credit.
A certificate number will be needed for WI State Fair Jr Large Animal show entries.  A hard copy is needed as proof of attendance for YQCA meeting credit for the Fond du Lac County Fair Market Livestock Sale.
Please note, YQCA certification is only offered online at http://yqca.org. In-person training will not be offered. Each exhibitor, including those showing their last year, must be Youth for the Quality Care of Animals (YQCA) certified. The YQCA training is offered online and is a $12 fee per person. Everyone must complete the online training and provide a copy of the certificate to Extension Fond du Lac County. This training will count two (2) points towards the minimum eight (8) points needed to qualify for the Fond du Lac County Market Livestock Sale. To register for YQCA, please visit http://yqca.org/

Fur, Fin, Feather: Teaching Show

Youth are invited to participate in our upcoming Fur, Fin, Feather: Teaching Show, slated for Saturday, April 30th at the Barney Center in Sparta, WI. This show is unique in the aspect that it focuses on teaching and learning. It is open to Cloverbud-13th grade, however, Cloverbuds will be under some restrictions.

WI 4-H Foundation Scholarships

The Wisconsin 4-H Foundation supports Wisconsin 4-H'ers in many ways, including scholarships for higher education. Application information is available now. The deadline to apply is March 15.

Calling All 4-H Youth & Adults - Volunteers Needed for 1st Annual Bean Bag Tournament

Anyone interested in helping plan the 1st Annual Bean Bag Tournament (which will replace the previous Basketball Tournament), please join South Byron 4-H Club at their monthly 4-H meeting on Monday, March 7 at 7:15 pm, Trinity United Methodist Church, 300 Church St., Lomira. They plan on going through a list of things they could use help with. Ideas will also be shared. See you then!
The Bean Bag Tournament is being held Saturday, April 9 at Lomira High School. If you have questions, please reach out to Vicki Thomas at 920.517.3546.

Apply for a Club Grant

Mutual of Wausau Insurance Corporation has a 4-H Grant that is currently open for clubs to apply for: https://mutualofwausau.com/community-involvement/.

The 4-H Club Grant was initiated to support 4-H Clubs in youth development and to promote civic and leadership responsibilities. The deadline for this grant is April 1, 2022. *4-H is not affiliated with Mutual of Wausau Insurance Corporation.
