The Most Influential African American Artists
Bender JCC of Greater Washington
This timely lecture will explore the most influential African American artists with a special emphasis on the emerging voices of the last 25 years. Join to explore a wide assortment of art media and address reoccurring themes such as identity, experience, culture, racism, civil rights, and black power movements and memory. Featured artists will include Jordan Casteel, Rashid Johnson, Julie Mehretu, Christina Quarles, Mickalene Thomas, Kara Walker, and many others.

Har Homa, My Home - Controversial, Complex, and Comfortable
The Jewish Federation of Greater Washington's Shlichim Program Join Shlicha Netta Asner, emissary from B'nai Israel Congregation, to hear about Har Homa, the neighborhood where she grew up, at the most Southern reaches of Jerusalem. The neighborhood was created in the '90s with the help and support of Benjamin Netanyahu, against objections by the UN and some Israeli groups. Join the "Life Online" Facebook group to register.

The Jewish Federation’s Emergency Response Committee has allocated funds to several local organizations in order to increase assistance to individuals and families. Learn more about these allocations.
We are proud to recognize Yad Yehuda of Greater Washington, a volunteer organization that serves as the Jewish community's financial safety net serving hundreds of individuals from every Jewish neighborhood in the Greater Washington area every year. To increase the amount of emergency assistance distributed and raise the threshold amount to best support community member needs, Federation has allocated $105,000 to Yad Yehuda of Greater Washington. Learn more about Federation’s coronavirus emergency funding and how our donors continue to make a difference for our Jewish community.
The Jewish Federation is proud to support these emergency loans with a grant from our Emergency Response Fund.

Kol Ami
Colors of Gratitude is Kol Ami’s project to hand color and distribute personalized gratitude cards to front line responders and others doing good deeds since the early days of the pandemic. Blood is in critically low supply in our region, putting trauma victims, women giving birth, cancer patients, and thousands of others at dire risk. Ever since the coronavirus pandemic first struck Greater Washington, Federation has worked swiftly to respond to the growing needs. Thanks to the generosity of donors to Federation's Annual Campaign, we have been able to support the most vulnerable members of our Jewish Greater Washington community with vital resources and sustain our vital institutions during this time of crisis. Though we cannot know what the future will bring, we remain committed to meeting the pressing needs of our community during times of calm and crisis.
