On Monday, January 27, 2025, the Department of Campus Safety received a report of a fondling that occurred at the intersection of Lafayette Street and West 4th Street, in Manhattan.
The complainant, an NYU student, reported that at 9:00 a.m., while they were walking on the crosswalk between Lafayette Street and East 4th Street, an unidentified individual approached the victim and grabbed their buttocks. The suspect then fled towards Lafayette Street without saying a word.
No physical injuries were reported. The student was offered support services. The student declined to report to the NYPD.
Description of Suspect: The suspect was described as masculine presenting with a light complexion and facial hair. The suspect was approximately 6 feet tall, wearing a black jacket. At the time of the incident, the suspect was carrying a large number of items.
