From Early Planning To A Realized Vision: The Story of Le Mars Community School District
Le Mars, IA
|
Faced with aging elementary facilities, space limitations, and a growing community, Le Mars Community School District partnered with ISG to assess existing buildings, evaluate future educational needs, and develop a long-range facility plan. Through stakeholder engagement, community surveys, and a voter-approved referendum, the District built support for a new elementary school that reflects local priorities and positions students for future success.

Building Engagement Beyond The Ballot
West Salem, WI
|
Successful school projects rely on clear communication with the people who will ultimately benefit from the investment. When the West Salem community voted to support $28 million in facility improvements, the School District of West Salem, ISG, and Kraus-Anderson partnered to develop a strategic communication plan based on transparency from early planning through project completion. Together, the tools help maintain momentum, strengthen community trust, and connect stakeholders to the vision behind the investment. The tools used in West Salem include:
- Project website for updates and resources
- Monthly e-newsletters that inform families, staff, and community members
of progress -
Social media campaign that provides project updates and encourages community engagement
- Construction time-lapse camera that creates visibility and excitement
