One thing is sure: without a king there can be no kingdom! Pilate was a governor under the reign of the Emperor of Rome. He cared about kings, perhaps because he wanted to be one. So he just had to ask, “Are you the king of the Jews?” Jesus had come announcing a kingdom. People said he was a king. Was he? Inquiring minds wanted to know. Jesus answered, “Yes!” Later those who crucified him platted a crown of thorns and pressed it into his brow. They paraded him in a royal robe, mocking him. When he was on the cross they challenged him to come down.

He is the King of Israel, the King of the Jews, the King of Righteousness and the King of the Ages, He is the King of Heaven and the King of Glory. He is the King of Kings and Lord of Lords.” Another has said, “All the armies that ever marched; all the navies that ever sailed, all the parliaments that ever ruled, and all the kings on all the thrones in the world, put together, have not affected life on this earth as that one man: Jesus the King. Do you know my King?
