John is a student in the Minneapolis Public School system. Like many of his classmates in special education, people do not always see him for the full, many-layered human he is. But his teacher reported that
"In Upstream Arts, he could express himself in a variety of creative ways, and we witnessed a more confident and outgoing person emerge."
With your support, Upstream Arts is about to enter more than 30 classrooms for our fall season, reaching more students like John. Working alongside individuals with disabilities to find avenues for increased self expression, we open the ways that classmates, educators, and everyone we meet can see us as complex, creative people.
