Travel Oregon Has a New Industry Site is your go-to resource for everything from grants to upcoming events to research and marketing opportunities in Oregon’s tourism industry. Thanks to your feedback, now it’s even better.
After hearing from the industry last fall, we developed a new site that’s simpler to navigate, offering improved search functionality and a more intuitive layout of pages and content.
The site now features regional landing pages, making it easier to find region-specific information for the Willamette Valley, Coast, Mt. Hood/Gorge, Portland Region, Eastern Oregon, Southern Oregon and Central Oregon.
For those of you who may be new to the industry, meet the Travel Oregon team and the Oregon Tourism Commissioners and better understand Travel Oregon’s vision, mission and values

Travel Oregon Strategic Plan

On June 11, 2019, the Oregon Tourism Commission adopted Travel Oregon’s Strategic Plan and budget for the 2019-21 biennium. The plan was developed with extensive input from Oregon’s travel and tourism industry, regional partners and Travel Oregon staff. The plan guides Travel Oregon’s work with key initiatives and measurements, aligning staff, programs and investments around clear strategies.
At the core of the plan is the reinforcement of Travel Oregon’s strategic evolution as a Destination Management Organization. This plan aims to help Travel Oregon achieve its vision: A better life for all Oregonians through strong, sustainable local communities that welcome a diversity of explorers.

Oregon Outdoor Recreation Summit in Review

Thanks to those of you who joined us in Bend May 13-14 for the 2019 Oregon Outdoor Recreation Summit. The summit brought together more than 330 outdoor recreation champions from around the state to make connections and be inspired to help advance outdoor recreation in Oregon. Following the summit, we asked participants for general feedback, including input related to future summits. We heard from 124 respondents who shared highline results below:
  • People were satisfied: 94% of respondents were somewhat or very satisfied with the summit and more than half said the summit was very successful in meeting its goal of fostering stakeholder collaboration and building new connections in Oregon’s outdoor community, while inspiring action to ensure access to world-class outdoor recreation experiences for all.
  • People want another summit: 95% of respondents said they would attend a future summit, ideally annually.
  • Overall sentiments around experience and learnings included:
    • Appreciation of the emphasis on inclusion and diversity
    • Desire for more time for Q&A and discussion in the breakout sessions
    • Desire for more organized structured networking events
We appreciate this community’s engagement in the summit and the feedback survey. More detailed survey findings are available online
